Atelier ST brings together past and present to reveal the best of every era. The result is high-quality, bespoke solutions that bring the past and present into a refined harmony across scales, typologies, and locations. This approach to architecture, both bold and sensitive, creates new relevance.
We design buildings that integrate naturally into their surroundings while making a strong impression. We create spaces that offer a sense of belonging, atmospheres that linger in memory, and structures that stand the test of time.

Silvia Schellenberg-Thaut and Sebastian Thaut founded Atelier ST in 2005 and have led the practice together ever since. As creative leaders, they oversee an ambitious portfolio of projects in Germany and beyond, working with a dedicated team. The studio specializes in cultural and artistic buildings, private residences, and hospitality projects, with a particular focus on working within historically evolved contexts.
Atelier ST was voted one of the 100 most important creatives of 2025 by the renowned magazine AD (Architectual Digest).

Our architecture is as distinctive as our clients and as authentic as the places where it takes shape. Every project is built on mutual trust and careful listening. This foundation allows us to approach each task with curiosity, openness, and unbounded creativity.
With an uncompromising commitment to quality, we strive to bring out the full potential of every project. At the heart of our work is a close dialogue with our clients. From this exchange, we develop a harmonious interplay of people, nature, and architecture. Our buildings become meaningful places, connecting all involved long after completion.
